Friday, 29 April, 2011 | Supplied by: SICK Pty Ltd

The Lector 620 series image-processing code reader is suitable for all code types and marking methods. It features compact design, industry-compatible integration into different IT environments, intuitive operation and good reading performance for product traceability and protection against product counterfeiting. Variant types in the series include: Eco as the basic variant, Standard as the device for rapid implementation of universal applications, and High Speed for high-speed solutions.

The compact metal housing with an IP65 (or optional IP67) enclosure rating is up to two-thirds smaller than most 2D code readers. The field of view covering 43 x 67 mm2 provides a depth of field of 50 mm at a reading distance of 100 mm. The series offers real-time decoding of all images captured with a frequency of 60 Hz. This improves decoding performance and timely detection and elimination of reading problems.

Depending on the requirements, it is also possible to set up various operating levels on the operator interface. Communication protocols supported include ethernet TCP/IP, FTP, EtherNet/IP, ProfiNET, CANbus, RS232/422/485, USB and digital I/O.
