Sick CLV6xx bar-code scanner platform

Tuesday, 17 August, 2010 | Supplied by: SICK Pty Ltd

The CLV6xx bar-code scanner platform offers scan frequencies up to 1200 Hz for conveying speeds of up to 6 m/s, permitting a customised solution for different identification problems. Various CLV6xx devices are also available as a variant with oscillating mirrors. Because of the processor technology used, the devices also feature performance reserves that allow reliably high reading rates even with a view to growing future demands.

The CLV650 is the high-end device in the series and in the reading field from 200-1600 mm features real-time autofocus with an integrated distance measurement function, which gives reading reliability even for high plant throughput diverse object sizes. On the device, this is visualised by a bargraph display, which eliminates the need for checking reading performance by means of a PC. From the CLV620 fixed-focus basic version upwards, ethernet on board and integrated web server functionality for scanner diagnosis are included as well as a two-stage fieldbus concept with a separate connection box and a parameter cloning option for minimised device replacement times.
