ADLINK has introduced the IMX-2000 industrial mobile computing solution with integrated near field communication (NFC) capabilities. NFC replaces RFID for higher compatibility, better support for more RF tags and wider range of applications.

The IMX-2000 has broad applications, including logistics and factory automation. The latest IMX-2000 with integrated NFC shifts the focus to more product applications and communication in shorter distances. In a corporate environment, this point-to-point protocol simplifies overall system operations and also enables a direct and secure communication channel between devices.

The Mini PCIe socket with NFC is an upgraded feature that supports more tag standards than the original RFID device. The IMX-2000 is a portable handheld device running on the Android platform with a built-in 1D/2D barcode scanner and reliable wireless communication functionality including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GSM, GPS and AGPS. Different end-user applications will be able to easily and securely transfer information for all types of situations. In addition, the Secure Access Module (SAM) slot handles the core system cryptography and NFC encryption to improve overall system security.
