Automated facility safely stores dangerous goods
Linfox is Asia Pacific’s largest privately owned logistics company, employing more than 24,000 people across 10 countries. Delivering more than $60 billion a year in goods across a network of more than 200 warehouses, Linfox works with some of the world’s largest and most successful companies.
Recently the company chose Swisslog to provide automation in a logistics centre utilising AutoStore robotic automation technology. As an AutoStore integrator with over 10 years’ experience, Swisslog was able to customise the technology and software to meet the needs of Linfox and its customer.
Linfox utilised Swisslog’s software expertise to efficiently tailor and implement a software solution that would ensure complete visibility and traceability of all SKUs stored in over 20,000 storage locations. At the pick station, Swisslog’s SynQ software determines which order the operator receives, maximising cluster picking and hit rate efficiency.
Due to the automation in place, maximum safety is ensured for all warehouse staff, as the solution is designed to store six different classes of non-dangerous and dangerous goods.
“Our valued global consumer goods customer required a bespoke solution to deliver growth through more efficient capacity, productivity, accuracy and speed to market,” said Kylie Fraser, President Consumer and Healthcare Group, Linfox Logistics. “After an extensive selection process to find an automation partner that understood our customer’s needs, we chose Swisslog.”
Swisslog says its experience means that tailor-made software and solutions can be engineered to create a customer-centric solution, and it works together with AutoStore to deliver solutions that generate the greatest gain for their shared customers.
