Interworld has expanded its range of Quatech ethernet-to-Wi-Fi products.

The Quatech Airborne ABDG-BR series wireless ethernet client bridges (models ABDG-BR-DP501, ABDG-BR-IN5010) create a secure connection between an 802.11b/g wireless LAN and any device with a standard ethernet port. Only a single ethernet client is supported. For ease of configuration, the ethernet client IP address can be in the same subnet as the rest of the wireless network. The client bridge transparently conveys data between devices with a 10/100 ethernet interface and an 802.11b/g wireless LAN, and requires no drivers or complex addressing schemes.

The wireless ethernet routers (models ABDG-ET-DP501, ABDG-ET-IN5010) are NAT3 routers. With NAT3, the router integrates with existing ethernet devices, supporting 10/100 ethernet, DHCP and static IP addressing, allowing a quick connection to enterprise-class networks. The NAT router is configured to work out of the box and requires almost no configuration.

All models support the latest security standards including 802.11i, WPA2, EAP authentication with certificate support, built-in firewalls on the ethernet and WLAN interfaces and SSH functionality. Fully encrypted data tunnels provide secure management, data transfer and communications. Multilevel encryption capability ensures the protection of sensitive device configuration data.

Using a 32-bit ARM9 processor and an Atheros AR6002 802.11 radio, the devices deliver increased transmit power and receive sensitivity, contributing to better range performance. Industrial-grade design, compact form factor, low power consumption, ruggedised enclosures and extended operating temperatures (-40 to +85°C) provide the reliability and performance required by industrial applications.
