Powerful new BACnet controller

The BACnet standard for building automation has become so widespread that it is now impossible to imagine building control technology without it. For this reason, Saia-Burgess Controls, a longstanding member of the "BACnet Interest Group Europe" (BIG-EU), also offers the new Saia PCD3 series as a "BACnet Building Controller" (B-BC).

The Saia PCD3 BACnet controller supports a large number of services and hence meets the requirements of a 'native BACnet controller' as prescribed by DIN EN ISO 16484-5, which are often simplified to the term "native BACnet".

Essential features are:

• Support for the BACnet data link layer
  • BACnet/IP
  • BACnet/PTP based on RS232 (inc. half-router functionality for modem)
• BACnet/IP broadcast management device (BBMD) supporting foreign device registration (FD)
• Backup/restore functionality
• Time synchronisation as master or slave
• Alarming
• Trend logging
• Standard functions of Saia PCD3 are fully retained
• Programming with PG5 from Saia-Burgess Controls Ltd

All communications protocols available with Saia PCD3 remain, of course, fully available for use with the BACnet extension.

At the control level, the integral Saia web server deserves special emphasis. It can be operated using any standard commercial browser directly via internet and therefore represents an economical but still very powerful HMI solution. The Saia-Burgess range also includes web terminals that are perfectly designed for this kind of convenient control.

The Saia PCD3 product range does not just offer very attractive functions; they also coordinate perfectly with each other as a whole, producing a well-rounded system within the overall range of Saia-Burgess Controls and providing the best in added value for system integrators and end customers.
