Kontron CP3923 3U CompactPCI ethernet switch
The CP3923 3U CompactPCI ethernet switch for IPv4/v6 communication networks and network-centric applications has up to 16 gigabit ethernet ports. The fully managed switch is designed to be a cost-effective, high-performance solution for harsh environments. The target markets include networking, transportation, aerospace, military and automation.
The fully managed Layer 2/3 switch offers IPv4 routing and optional IPv6 routing as well as full management capabilities. It supports CLI, telnet, web, and SNMP management interfaces to configure the set of protocols and parameters including Layer 2 and Layer 3 (IPv4/v6) protocols, multicasting, QoS and security. For applications requiring higher bandwidth, it also supports link aggregation. It also supports intelligent platform management (IPMI) and hot-swap capabilities.
The base configuration (CP3923-8C) supports eight GbE ports via RJ45 and eight GbE ports via rear I/O. Two additional versions directly target transportation and mobile applications, providing four (CP3923-4M) or eight (CP3923-8M) fast ethernet ports via M12-D connectors. All versions support eight GbE via rear I/O. To have access to the eight GbE ports routed to the rear, a special rear transition module is available.
The switch is compliant with the EN50155 railway standard and offers an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C. Additionally, the use of soldered components ensures resistance against the typical effects of shock and vibration. For even harsher environments a rugged conduction-cooled version is planned.
