Ethernet physical media components
Rockwell Automation has introduced an expanded range of industrial-grade ethernet physical media components. Specially engineered for high performance in harsh industrial environments, the expanded ethernet component range includes four- and two-pair cable varieties with RJ45 and/or M12 connectors, spools of cable, as well as a variety of accessories.
Featuring heavy-duty design, the new ethernet physical media components provide a combination of high-level electrical performance and physical toughness. The ethernet cable family has been engineered to preserve signal balance and integrity, while delivering optimised noise immunity and return loss performance. A tight bend radius capability provides flexibility for making tight connections without signal disruption.
Rated up to IP67, the RJ45 ethernet cordsets and patchcords are available in robotic TPE (two and four pair), riser PVC (four pair) and plenum (four pair) cable jacket versions, while those with M12 connectivity are provided in robotic TPE (two pair) configuration. Spools of cable are available in lengths of 100, 300 and 600 m for each of the cable jacket versions.
Accessories include a category 5e-rated crimp connector with ruggedised boot, as well as a category 6-rated RJ45 insulation displacement connector (IDC). Easy to fit, the IDC connector permits a reliable connection option and can be reterminated up to five times. This connector choice, in combination with the crimp tool kit and cable spools, allows users to customise ethernet cables to length and termination requirements.
