Decentralised I/O system

The PSSuniversal decentralised I/O system, for connection to Profinet and Profinet safe, can be individually adapted to suit the respective application. It is easy to manage during commissioning and engineering.

The safety settings for each device are controlled at a central point, with no need to deal with awkward sub-addresses. The system has ‘optimum’ settings for all the fail-safe (FS) addresses on Profinet, reducing the administrative work in assigning FS address ranges.

The modular system allows for ‘hot-swapping’ of safety-related I/O modules, with no need to stop the system or dismantle it in any way. Plug-in electronic modules reduce maintenance time and prevent errors and downtime.

The decentralised I/O platform is designed in accordance with category 4 of EN954-1 and SIL 3 of IEC 61508, as well as other international standards.

The PSSuniversal Assistant and PSSuniversal Startup Tool have been adapted to the interface.
