Wednesday, 11 March, 2009

The Fieldbus Foundation has announced the establishment of an Asia–Pacific Executive Advisory Council (AP-EAC), to help drive adoption of open, non-proprietary Foundation fieldbus technology by end users in East Asia, South-East Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.

The AP-EAC comprises representatives from ABB, Emerson Process Management, Invensys, MTL, Pepperl+Fuchs, Rockwell Automation, Turck, R Stahl, Yamatake and Yokogawa.

According to Rich Timoney, Fieldbus Foundation President and CEO, the council will play a key role in increasing industry acceptance of Foundation technology.

“The Asia–Pacific market is setting the worldwide pace for manufacturing growth and greenfield plant construction,” said Timoney.

“We have expanded our presence in this part of the world to better support users of Foundation-based control systems in a wide range of industrial process control applications.”
