Standardised, easy-to-use, efficient application software for robot control
The newly developed MOVIKIT Robotics software module is a standardised solution for the MOVI-C modular automation system from SEW EURODRIVE. It enables easy universal control of a wide range of serial and parallel robot kinematics.
The parameterisable MOVIKIT Robotics software module enables ultra-easy control of universal robot kinematics, starting with rapid creation and editing of robot programs by workers without the need for programming skills — even directly at the machine.
Start-up is straightforward due to graphical configuration, followed by completion of the robot program in MOVISUITE RobotMonitor and efficient teaching of the robot in no time at all.
Using standardised software modules contributes to high software quality. No programming work is needed, as a result of the easy parameterisation. The functions of the MOVIKIT Robotics software module can also be extended through numerous add-ons, for example to control robots with up to six joint axes or handle moving work pieces.
The main uses include handling applications such as palletising and moving goods. It can also be used in various ways in other areas such as for plotter applications, applying adhesives and decorating baked goods.
Different categories at a glance
Each category is subdivided into individual MOVIKIT software modules and additional functions through a MOVIKIT add-on.
The individual software modules are run on the real-time operating system of the MOVI-C Controllers or, in the case of MOVIKIT software modules in the ‘Drive’ category, on the MOVIDRIVE application inverter.
The software modules are divided into the following categories:
- Automation Framework
- Communication
- Drive
- DriveRadar
- Motion
- Multi Axis Controller
- Multi Motion
- Power and Energy Solutions
- Robotics
- Single Axis
- Stacker Crane
- Visualisation
- Bundle
Drive into efficiency: Exploring MOVIKIT software modules for seamless automation
Let’s explore the Drive category as an example.
The Drive category includes MOVIKIT software modules that are operated on the inverters from the MOVI-C modular automation system. These modules connect directly to the higher-level controller and are controlled individually via the respective interface. Various single axis automation applications can thus be implemented via convenient and rapid configuration — all without the user needing any programming knowledge. A wide range of additional functions such as sensor-based positioning are available, depending on the requirements.
Typical applications of MOVIKIT Drive software modules include:
- Rapid/Creep speed positioning operating modes for roller conveyors, rotary tables, and pallet transfer shuttles.
- Velocity and torque control operating modes for agitators, conveyor belts, and liner sorter applications.
- Positioning operating modes for hoists, storage systems, and supply systems.
The Drive category has eight different add-ons that users can choose from:
- Velocity Drive
- Positioning Drive
- RapidCreepPositioning Drive
- BinaryTablePositioning Drive
- Torque Drive
- ASi LocalMotorStarter Drive
- ALGM Drive
