Micro-Episolon optoCONTROL 2600 optical micrometer
The Micro-Episolon optoCONTROL 2600 is a telecentric, optical micrometer with an internal, high-resolution CCD camera for geometrical measurements. LED technology and a minimum number of mechanical components provide a long service life. The optoCONTROL 2600 operates on a non-contact, wear-free basis.
Optical micrometers are used to measure the roundness and diameter of stainless steel metal stampings to micrometer accuracies in a full installation. Two Micro-Epsilon optoCONTROL 2600 series micrometers are installed for a complete automatic measurement in a cylindrical, ground stainless steel metal stamping application.
Roundness and diameter are measured at three positions to a measurement accuracy of ±2 µm. The roundness is determined reliably using two focal points connected via a laser line (imaginary centre axis). Using an encoder, rotations of the blank are performed in order to provide high-precision edge and diameter measurements and assigned to the respective angle position. In this case, three rotations are conducting to the required measurement results. Next, concentricity and curvature of the blank are calculated. The optoCONTROL 2600 optical micrometer therefore provides a multisegmented program solving both tasks simultaneously. Due to a telecentric lens and optical filters, the system is also insensitive to ambient light. The digital RS232 interface outputs the edge and diameter values.
