ifm efector LMT Series level sensor

Tuesday, 12 July, 2011 | Supplied by: ifm efector pty ltd

The LMT Series level sensor can be used as a suitable alternative to tuning-fork level sensors that are prone to false signalling.

The point-level sensor sees through build-up and residue. It features: sanitary PEEK sensing tip prevents media residue from sticking; no obstruction to flow path or bridging of sensor tips; 316 stainless steel body ensures chemical compatibility even with the harshest cleaning agents; multiple frequencies analyse media which eliminates sensitivity adjustments.

The sensor reliably monitors the level of viscous media, liquids and powders in processing tanks, storage vessels and pipes. Viscous media, such as ketchup and mayonnaise, tend to stick to a sensing face and cause unreliable level indication. The point-level sensor is not affected by deposits or foam. Even for viscous and sticky products such as ketchup or mayonnaise, the point-level sensor provides reliable operation. The sensor can easily distinguish between a full tank of mayonnaise present versus only a surface residue coating.
