Hengstler RI64 incremental encoder

Friday, 25 February, 2011 | Supplied by: Automated Control Pty Ltd

The Hengstler RI64 incremental encoder has a robust design, making it high-shock and vibration resistant, and is commonly used for feedback in asynchronous motors and industrial applications.

The incremental encoder is available in two shaft types; through hollow shaft and hub shaft, with shaft diameters up to 16 mm. The shafts are electrically insulated which provides protection from shaft currents.

The protection class of the incremental encoders is IP64 or IP67 and they have a high temperature range of -40 to +100°C, 100 m/s2 vibration resistance and 1000 m/s2 shock resistance. The RI64 has a maximum pulse frequency of 300 kHz and provides a PPR of up to 5000.

The housing of the encoder has a diameter of 63 mm and the unit weighs approximately 180 g. Supply voltage is 5-26 VDC.
