Gefran ONP1-A magnetostrictive linear position sensor

Monday, 20 December, 2010 | Supplied by: Panduit International Ltd

The Gefran ONP1-A contactless magnetostrictive linear position sensor consists of an alloy body containing the sensor and all electronics to produce 4-20 mA proportional to the position of a magnet along the body. The magnet can be mounted on a separate mechanical part, or on a sliding carriage that moves on tracks on the alloy body. Power supply is 24 VDC ±20%.

Measurements from 0-50 to 0-1500 mm are made in 31 available ranges depending on the model. Accuracy is 0.04% of full scale with relative velocities up to 10 m/s. Sampling time is from 1 to 3 ms depending on the range.

The ONP1-A sensors are IP65 rated to 75°C, tolerate 12g at 10-2000 Hz continuous vibration and are designed for mechanical machinery, including plastic injection moulding, cutting and shaping saws, wood processing and presses.
