Motrona FM260 encoder signal multiplier

The Motrona FM260 is a universal impulse and frequency multiplier that provides an encoder input reprocessed as an encoder output, both using channels A, /A, B, /B, Z, /Z with programmable levels and switching levels.

The unit provides error-free multiplication of an input frequency by a proportional factor F1 and a reciprocal factor F2, both adjustable in a range of 0.0005 to 9.9999. The unit also generates an index pulse with a programmable impulse distance that, if required, can be synchronised with the input marker pulse.

All operation modes provide error-free frequency conversion, with full consideration of the A/B phase and direction of the quadrature signals, so there are no cumulative errors, even with continuous change of direction and vibrations.

Maximum frequency is 1 MHz for both input and output. The FM260 can run from an 18-30 VDC power supply, and it has an RS232 interface and a USB port. An optional Profibus-DP interface is available.
