Weidmüller V14 PushPull connectors and FreeCon junction boxes
The V14 PushPull connectors and FreeCon junction boxes provide power, signal and data connectivity for robot cabling in aggressive environments.
The system consists of three models of V14 PushPull metal connectors - for ethernet, power and discrete signals - and a double-junction box for both power (24 V) and data (ethernet), and a single-junction box for signals. The V14 connectors are both ProfiNet and AIDA compliant.
Originally designed to meet the requirements of the automotive construction industry, the connectors and junction boxes are suitable for use in robotic applications where robustness, high protection (IP67) and wide operating temperatures (-40 to +70°C) must be considered.
Built in a sturdy metal housing, the components of the V14 connectors and the junction boxes are strong enough to withstand flying sparks, welding slag and other aggressive environmental factors as well as moisture.
As members of Weidmüller’s SteadyTec range, the products incorporate all of the advantages offered by SteadyTec technology and comply with all relevant standards concerning safety and performance. They offer reliable transmission for optical and electrical signals and help minimise manufacturing outages. They are claimed to provide up to 750 connection/disconnections without failure for all data connections.
Ethernet connectivity is via standard connection techniques including RJ45 for copper (Cat 6A) and SC-RJ for glass and plastic optic fibre.
The connector for power cables is equipped with a 5-pole insert suitable rated for 16 A at 24 VDC. The PushPull connector for signals comes with a 10-pole hybrid insert.
