Fitting for use in the food industry

Metal Work Pneumatics has added to its range of fittings by introducing a phosphorous, nickel-plated push-in range, suitable for use in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, medical and electronics industries.

The brass bodies and release collars are chemically nickel-plated to the NSF/ANSI 51 standard for the food industry and seals are made of FDA-approved FKM/FPM.

The fittings use a parallel thread with an under-head O-ring to provide the pneumatic seal. This removes the need for sealants (eg, teflon), which can release fragments during installation, potentially contaminating the environment or the air supply. By not using any technopolymer parts in the design, the problem of incompatibility with detergents and other chemicals is prevented.

The all-metal fitting with viton seals can be used in applications from -20 to +150 °C and at pressures up to 16 bar, making them suitable for many other robust or hot applications as well.
