SEW-Eurodrive celebrates 25 years of Australian service

SEW-Eurodrive, a market leader in mechanical power transmission equipment and drive solutions, celebrated 25 years of service in Australia last Saturday.

Originally located in Tullamarine, Victoria, the company now has facilities in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Queensland. According to SEW-Eurodrive Australia's managing director, Robert Merola, new facilities are planned for Adelaide and Perth and there are plans to expand the Brisbane site.

Merola says the reason for their success in Australia was providing quality service throughout the country.

"In such a vast continent, round-the-clock, regional support is vital," he said. "It was important to quickly establish authorised and skilled service centres throughout the whole country. Specialists are available at all times to perform repairs, provide replacements, design technical solutions, or just talk through application issues."

With the company's global network of 11 manufacturing plants and 61 assembly, sales and service plants in 44 countries, the commitment to service extends offshore. Exporters are provided with access to the worldwide support network, ensuring a consistently high level of on-the-ground support.

"This service extends across our entire product range, regardless of where the drive solutions are used," said Merola. "Geared motors, industrial gear units, drive automation, and drive electronics are all catered for."

SEW has been active in the wider community throughout its 25-year Australian history, with involvement in sport, cultural pursuits and charities. "This year we are also celebrating another milestone: the tenth anniversary of the "SEW Charity Event', which has raised over $1 million for Mental Illness Fellowship of Victoria," said Merola.
