Danish celebration

Monday, 22 January, 2007

On Wednesday 21 March, the Danish Consul General will be hosting an official lunch for Danfoss in Sydney's Darling Harbour to celebrate 35 years in Australia.

Danfoss supplies energy-saving motor control products and solutions within heating and cooling and has been committed to sustainability since opening in Denmark in 1933. The company entered Australia 35 years ago and is now one of more than 70 different Danish companies successfully operating in Australia.

"Danfoss has become one of the leading Danish brands in Australia, recognised for its consideration of the environment and the wider community," said the Danish Consul General, Jorgen Mollegaard.

"Although Princess Mary has helped to bring our two countries closer together, we should also recognise the quiet achievements of Danish companies that also call Australia home. Although on opposite ends of the world, both Australians and Danes share a concern about the environment and the kind of planet the next generation will inherit."

Visiting VIPs from Danfoss, including president of the Motion Control Division Sven Ruder, will be present to discuss new products, together with a keynote speaker from the Australian environmental sector.
