HYDAC HMG 4000 portable hydraulic data logger

The HMG 4000 is a portable measuring and data logging device, mainly developed for measuring values related to hydraulic systems, such as pressure, temperature, flow rate and position. With main applications being servicing, maintenance or test rigs, this device is said to provide high flexibility, even when it comes to evaluating other measuring values.

The HMG 4000 has an easy-to-operate user interface due to its large 5.7″ touchscreen. The operator can access all of the unit’s functions and settings by means of clearly presented selection menus. It can record the signals of up to 38 sensors at once and it is optionally possible to connect the HMG 4000 to an existing CAN network. This enables the recording of measured data transmitted via CAN bus (such as motor speed and pressure) in combination with the measured data from the hydraulic system.

The HMG 4000 can also be used to record, online and in real time, the dynamic processes of a machine in the form of a measurement curve and render them as a graph. HMGWIN software, specific to the HMG 4000, is supplied for post-processing, rendering and evaluation of measurements on a computer.

HYDAC has videos available to understand how the HMG 4000 works and how to use it with other elements, including an overview video, updating firmware and configuring IO-Link sensors.
