Weidmüller’s DC-UPS and buffer modules provide industry with solutions to overcome electricity supply interruptions from 200 ms to 40 A for 30 min enabling a high-reliability 24 VDC system to hold up control, safety and communications systems for a length of time.
As most power dips are less than 200 ms, the maintenance-free buffer module is suitable for momentary interruptions using capacitive-based storage, when placed in series with a 24 VDC supply to provide short-term energy support. Outputs are provided for ready and fault with LED indication for operational status.
For more controlled override solutions when total power loss occurs, the DC-UPS controller together with a battery module provides backup power safely and reliably. The DC-UPS module provides power up to 40 A for 30 min or 1 A for 30 h, depending on the application. Five battery modules between 1.3 and 17 Ah are selectable to ensure a tailor-made solution. All batteries are high-quality AGM VRLA batteries with integrated temperature sensor in the battery module that ensures extended life. Operational status via digital outputs, with LED indicators, ensures positive feedback, with both buffer and DC-UPS units operational from -25 to +70°C.
Being 66 mm in width, either can be mounted beside a PRO-M power supply with no space required between them, ensuring a seamless cabinet design.
