Vista-certified serial boards

Microsoft's Windows Vista x86 and x64 Basic certification has been obtained for the MOXA brand multiport serial boards and device servers. This makes MOXA the world's first Vista-certified provider for this range of products.

To obtain Windows Vista certification, a product must comply with Microsoft's strict requirements for use with the Windows Vista operating system.

Vista certification is classified into basic and premium versions:

Premium: This is for products that have best-in-class performance and that take advantage of Vista's higher-level capabilities.

Basic: This is for products that meet the minimum Vista standards for compatibility, reliability, stability and security

Microsoft classifies Moxa multiport serial boards and device networking products as serial port adapters, which only need Basic certification for effective operation with Windows Vista. The premium level is more suited to high-performance application hardware, such as motherboards, sound cards and video cards that are designed to showcase Vista's enhanced user interface and security.

PCI Express boards:	4 and 8-port RS232/422/485 smart serial boards
Universal PCI boards:	2 to 32-port RS232/422/485 universal PCI boards
PCI boards:	2 to 8-port RS232/422/485 PCI serial boards

Vista-certified device/terminal servers:

Embedded device servers:	on board range for OEMs
Secure device servers:	1- to 16-port serial to ethernet - fully encrypted
Industrial device servers:	all versions, RS232, RS422, RS485
Serial Device Servers:	1 to 16 serial to ethernet device/terminal servers
Wireless Device Servers:	2- and 4-port serial to wireless device servers
