Titomic sells cold spray system to Volvo Group for its MRO services

Australian company Titomic Limited has announced the sale of its D523 Low Pressure Cold Spray System (D523) for AU$90,865 to the Volvo Group in Sweden.

The sale signifies the entry of Titomic’s cold spray technology into Volvo’s Repair and Remanufacture operations, a testament to the Australian company’s growing recognition and credibility in the global maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector. Volvo, with its six worldwide facilities, is well known for leadership in the MRO sector within the automotive and heavy equipment industry.

Volvo, one of the world’s largest truck manufacturers, has a diverse portfolio including mining trucks, marine engines and other products requiring maintenance and repair. The D523 will be utilised in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy equipment engines, specifically for Volvo Trucks, with potential applications extending to Volvo Construction Equipment. Titomic said this demonstrates the efficacy and adaptability of the D523 and opens opportunities for further collaboration between Titomic and the Volvo Group.

“The integration of Titomic’s D523 into Volvo Group’s repair operations is a key win, said Titomic’s Managing Director, Herbert Koeck. “Volvo’s adoption of this technology demonstrates the strong performance of Titomic’s products and growing interest in them across Europe and the worldwide remanufacturing and maintenance sector.”

The Titomic cold spray process allows parts to be repaired without the application of heat by spraying material onto the part to be repaired at supersonic velocities.
