Schneider Electric's Brian Morris announced as chairman of EUAA
Schneider Electric has announced that Brian Morris, VP, Energy and Sustainability Services, Schneider Electric, has been appointed as chairman of the Energy Users Association of Australia (EUAA).
The EUAA plays a large role in advocating for Australia’s energy users in the industrial, resources and commercial sector, by working with all stakeholders from government, networks, generation and energy retail to drive reliable, secure and cost-effective energy. The energy sector is dynamic and diverse, and the EUAA plays an important role to bring those with a shared interest to focus on one common goal — to drive for a sustainable and efficient energy supply for Australian consumers and business.
Brian’s career to date has seen him gain expertise across technical, business, financial and energy trading roles within the corporate, power station, mining and advisory environments. Brian possesses strong financial management skills coupled with extensive expertise, which puts him in a strong position to be chairman of the EUAA.
Brian currently leads Schneider Electric’s Energy and Sustainability Services business in Australia, which provides a range of solutions to assist clients to dramatically improve business results through superior sustainability performance and energy efficiency. Brian was also a founder and director of Creative Energy Solutions from 2003 to 2010.
On taking up the position, Morris said:
“I am thrilled to be taking up this role and I’m looking forward to the challenge. The energy market has seen constant change and we are heading into a period of significant and unprecedented disruption with batteries and renewables, smart products and systems. I see a lot of smart and passionate people in the energy industry and we need to tackle these challenges as a group across both industry and supply chain. Communication plays an important part in this and the EUAA provides a great platform for that to happen, where we can bring energy users together to better understand the key issues facing the industry.
“Schneider Electric has many complementary values which will support my role with the EUAA. We are committed to our own energy footprint with many commercial and manufacturing sites across Australia. Every day we ensure our customers have access to safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable energy. We’re committed to providing innovative solutions that address the energy paradox: balancing our planet’s carbon footprint with the irrefutable human right to quality energy.”
