SAGE Automation lands South American export deal

A sanitisation system manufactured by SAGE Automation is set to be exported to South America.

SAGE Automation will this month begin exporting the US-developed Sanitizit systems to Chile. The Sanitizit system is used to quickly sanitise shopping and luggage trolleys, wheelchairs and hospital gurneys by spraying a fine disinfectant over the item.

The industrial automation company partnered with the United States developer of Sanitizit to manufacture the systems at their Tonsley Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Adelaide, South Australia at the end of last year.

The system has been installed in supermarkets across Australia.

SAGE Group Managing Director and CEO Adrian Fahey said the company is thrilled to bring Sanitizit to new international locations.

“Exporting Sanitizit to new territories from our South Australian manufacturing facility is part of our strategy for going global,” he said. “Integrating our locally engineered and manufactured SAGE Edge data capture device into the sanitising units enables us to provide remote technical access and support to international clients.”

SAGE Edge is an Industry 4.0 IoT-connected device that allows the units to be connected to SAGE’s Centralised Management and Monitoring System, enabling central configuration, monitoring, tracking and maintenance of all deployed units. This enables remote monitoring and updates for the units both locally and internationally through SAGE’s National Operations Centre.

The Edge device will also collect data analytics such as machine usage and status and has the ability to provide alerts for alarms and faults.

SAGE will partner with South Australian investment company Donoso & Sons to export the product to South America, with the first shipment to Chile planned for today (23 April).

Eduardo Donoso, Executive Director of Donoso & Sons, said he is proud to be partnering with SAGE to introduce Sanitizit to South American countries.

“The introduction of Sanitizit is an important milestone for the strong trade relationship between Australia and Chile,” he said. “We are looking to increase the presence of this technology throughout Chile, expanding into airports and hospitals across the country.”

SAGE is in talks with other companies across Europe and the Asia Pacific looking to develop similar partnerships.
