Australian instrumentation supplier ProDetec has announced that it has acquired the SIGRIST exclusive distributor rights for Australia and New Zealand.

SIGRIST produces optical measuring devices that are used to monitor the quality of process variables in numerous industries. SIGRIST’s photometers measure turbidity, dissolved substances, colour, oil or particulates. The company’s range of photometers is used in water treatment, the food industry, industrial processes and environmental protection, and in the monitoring of air quality in roads and rail tunnels.

According to Buddy Barakat, ProDetec’s general manager, the addition of SIGRIST to its existing range of monitoring, detecting and control products will allow the company to expand its offering of quality instrumentation and analysers for customers.

“To date, we have been supplying our Australian and New Zealand customers with state-of-the-art instrumentation for safety and environmental monitoring. Our partnership with SIGRIST will now allow our customers access to sophisticated analysers that can monitor water and other liquid properties in various processes and also in environmental protection,” explained Barakat.

“SIGRIST has a large install base in various industries across Australia and New Zealand. Our association with SIGRIST is for both sales and service of their entire range. Local customers are now able to rely on ProDetec for both in-house service and for on-site commissioning when required, which is very important in our part of the world,” said Barakat.

“We are very excited about being able to broaden our product range by offering the highly regarded SIGRIST photometers. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with the Swiss company as well as the opportunity to better meet the needs of our customers,” he concluded.
