Powerful speaker line-up at AOG
An extraordinarily successful line-up of speakers including champion sportspeople, business leaders and highly regarded oil and gas executives will feature when the very popular AOG Women event is staged at AOG 2016.
The speakers includes a dual Olympian, one of Australia’s most influential business women, a structural engineer and an associate professor who will provide her perspective on where the oil and gas industry is headed and the important role women are playing.
They will be joined by Woodside’s Chief Operations Officer Michael Utsler, with Santos’ Manager Government and Community Relations, WA & NT Business Unit and former media high flyer Tom Baddeley facilitating the highly informative event.
To be held in the Bellevue Ballroom at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre (PCEC) between 1 and 4 pm on Friday 26 February, AOG Women is both educational and inspiring, featuring topics such as gender diversity across the oil and gas industry, creating and maintaining a successful career, and how the current state of the resources sector is affecting employment opportunities.
The key speakers at this year’s event bring a remarkable diversity of success and experience at the highest levels.
Mary Hackett
The Regional Director, Australia, New Zealand & Papua New Guinea for GE Oil & Gas, Mary was named in the AFR’s Top 100 most influential women in 2015. In this position, Mary is responsible for leading the business and setting strategy.
She is a passionate advocate for women and has mentored over 50 female employees during her time at GE. She is also executive sponsor of the GE Women’s Network.
Sarah Harloe
A Structural Engineer with Technip Oceania, Sarah started her career as a graduate at Technip in November 2011.
She has received a broad range of experience in the oil and gas industry, and has worked in multiple countries including Norway, the UK and Malaysia.
Linley Lord
Linley is Professor, Director and Chairperson at Curtin University, Curtin Leadership Centre, and Curtin’s Graduate School of Business respectively. Her current research includes women in non-traditional areas of employment, new leadership models and women’s experience in leadership roles and on boards.
Jenn Morris
A dual Olympic gold medallist and former captain of the Hockeyroos female hockey team, Jenn Morris was also the 2007 National Deloitte Businesswoman of the Year.
She is currently a management consultant with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a board member of Western Australian Institute of Sport and Fremantle Football Club (Fremantle Dockers) and immediate past Chairwoman of HealthWay WA.
Michael Utsler
The Chief Operations Officer at Woodside, Michael has over 35 years’ global experience in the upstream oil and gas industry having held a wide range of technical, managerial and executive roles covering all aspects of the upstream industry, from exploration, developments and operations, to the commercialisation of assets and their products.
Chairman, Tom Baddeley
The Manager Government and Community Relations, WA & NT Business Unit, Santos Limited, Tom has worked in the oil and gas industry for seven years, which followed 12 years in the media and a couple before that in the law.
