Oil field equipment preservation at AOG 2016
A leading provider of specialist engineered coatings, Surface Technology, will showcase its expertise in refurbishing and repairing critical components and equipment at the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference (AOG) 2016. The annual exhibition provides an opportunity for Surface Technology to showcase its specialism in oil field equipment preservation.
Held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 24–26 February, AOG is the platform event for the Australian oil and gas industry. Surface Technology, whose Australian base is located in Jandakot, Perth, specialises in both the refurbishment and repair of offshore equipment and in enhancing OEM components to reduce wear caused by abrasion and corrosion, helping to reduce downtime in highly asset-intensive industries such as oil and gas, and mining.
Surface Technology offers a unique alternative in environments where abrasive blasting is not suitable. Oil field equipment preservation offers an array of benefits including on-site application, minimal component disassembly, eliminated contamination and reduced downtime costs.
Surface Technology will be exhibiting at AOG alongside sister company SIFCO ASC, which will be demonstrating the SIFCO Process, using CGI video, to provide attendees with a first-hand look at its portable method for electroplating localised areas on components without the use of an immersion tank.
Surface Technology Australia has seen significant growth in demand for its component refurbishment and repair capability from customers operating in Australia, West Africa and Malaysia. In hostile operating environments, making the correct choice or application of surface coating is critical to optimising equipment performance and maximising service life.
Mark Huxley, general manager at Surface Technology Australia, said: “Exhibiting at the AOG is an integral part of our calendar as we continue to increase our global capabilities and service.
“This year, attendees will get the chance to see the SIFCO Process demonstrated, as well as speak to our technical experts who can offer advice on industry issues and guidance on selecting the right surface treatment to optimise the performance and life expectancy of critical components.”
