Nominations open for NSW Premier's Export Awards

Investment NSW has announced that nominations are now open for the 2023 Premier’s NSW Export Awards, recognising the success and resilience of exporters across the state. CEO Katie Knight said exporters continue to play a vital role in the success of NSW, contributing $120 billion to the state’s economy last year, up from $82 billion in 2021.

“Growing NSW’s exports will guarantee our future economic sustainability because businesses that export are more productive, create more jobs and pay higher wages,” she said. “Everyone across the state benefits from the jobs and business opportunities generated by trade, so it’s important we celebrate our strengths in industry, our regions and our people. I strongly encourage all eligible NSW exporters to apply.”

Now in its 61st year, the 2023 Awards will recognise businesses across 13 national categories and four NSW categories. The Awards are delivered in partnership with the Export Council of Australia (ECA).

Chair of the ECA Dianne Tipping said the Awards will showcase businesses across a variety of sectors that continue to flourish and contribute to the NSW economy.

“NSW is truly blessed with world-class growers, producers, innovators and creators and the Premier’s NSW Export Awards is an important program that recognises their collective brilliance,” Tipping said. “Through the Awards, we will celebrate exporters who through hard work and resilience faced the challenges of global markets, whilst inspiring others to grow their own businesses. They are taking NSW innovation onto the world stage, supporting jobs and economic growth for all.”

The NSW winners of the 13 national categories will automatically progress as national finalists to the Australian Export Awards.

Nominations close on 14 June 2023. The NSW Awards ceremony on 6 October 2023 will celebrate not only NSW exporters but also the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and trade between Australia and Vietnam.
