Mincom inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame
ABB has announced that its ABB Enterprise Software heritage company Mincom has been inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame at a ceremony hosted by Paul de Jersey, Governor of Queensland, at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre last week.
The accolade acknowledges the public contribution made by the business to the reputation of Queensland and its economic and social development over a period spanning more than 30 years. Ranking amongst Australia’s largest software developers and exporters, Mincom continues to make major impacts in the industry today — both locally and globally.
In 2011, ABB acquired Mincom to broaden its software portfolio and establish the ABB Group as a global leader in enterprise asset management solutions. Ongoing R&D investment is ensuring ABB’s leadership position as the only industrial software provider with a combined IT/OT offering for utility, mining, chemical, oil and gas, transportation and communication markets in Australia and internationally. Innovation and IP continue to be driven out of Australia, with more than 150 software engineers based in Brisbane.
“Innovative spirit is something ABB values highly and we welcome the recognition of Mincom’s contribution to the business and social development of Brisbane via its pioneering enterprise software development,” said Axel Kuhr, managing director for ABB in Australia. “ABB continues to advance solutions to help operators of asset-intensive industries achieve their strategies in ways that they may struggle to imagine today, by harnessing mobility, cloud technologies or big data and analytics, including machine learning for their asset management efforts.”
