Innovations on show at NMW 2015

Thursday, 07 May, 2015

With more than 200 industry-leading brands now confirmed for National Manufacturing Week (NMW 2015), to be held from 26-29 May in Melbourne, this year's event will be exhibiting some new and innovative technologies. Manufacturers looking for new opportunities will be able to inspect new solutions from companies such as Bosch, CGB Precision Products, Adept Turnkey and Millsom Materials Handling.

In a landmark display, Bosch Manufacturing Solutions will showcase an improved version of its mechatronics unit for automated pick-and-place, tightening, vision, automated testing and more. Bosch Engineering & Technical Solutions brings its expertise in creating turnkey product development, including complete engineering, validation, certification and manufacturing.

CGB Precision Products will showcase breakthrough technologies for aviation, defence and other advanced manufacturing applications. Among these is the latest from OAV Air Bearings - delivering low friction, high speed and low torque, with indefinite life and no heat generation at high speed, for precise positioning and very good overall performance.

CGB MD Bill Lingard commented, "NMW has long been the place to demonstrate game-changing technologies to business owners - and this year's event will be no exception. We're very much looking forward to talking with industry about how advances in precision products will help them realise their vision for the future."

Additionally, Adept Turnkey is demonstrating smart machine vision and automated inspection technology advances, including a new technique for inspecting products with a full 360° view.

Other demonstrations will include the latest smart cameras, vision appliances and 3D inspection products for small and large products. Adept Turnkey will also have its vision engineers on hand to advise on ways to reduce risk, minimise costs and maximise the efficiency of your automated inspection systems.

Millsom Materials Handling will be showcasing its new vacuum lifter Jumbo Flex 50, designed for frequent, very fast movement of items weighing up to 50 kg. The Jumbo Flex works with suction pads for different items - such as sacks - and is operated by one hand, so you can use the other hand to quickly, safely steer your sacks into place.

NMW Exhibition Director Anthony Reed commented, "We're extremely proud of NMW's role in bringing new ideas, products and services together, under the one roof, to inspire manufacturers to take their operations to the next level. This year's event is no exception: with the number of exhibitors and industry advances on display, NMW 2015 will truly be the event that brings industry together."

Registration is now open at www.nationalmanufacturingweek.com.au. Registration is free for the trade show, and registering online is the best way to beat the queues when the doors open.
