IICA technical nights to be held in Newcastle and Sydney
The IICA (Institute of Instrumentation, Control and Automation) is hosting technical nights in Newcastle and Sydney in June.
Mark Elrick, NSW Manager, Consultant - Automation Systems with Integrated Automation, will deliver a presentation at the technical nights entitled ‘There shall be no internet on a site I lead’.
Elrick’s synopsis of the presentation is as follows: Prosperity, if not survival, of local manufacturing will require a constant review of technology enablers to create opportunities and eliminate avoidable costs and downtime. Residual Luddites with influence must be relieved of their command.
The presentation will commence with a historical review of three decades of remote access solutions, culminating in best in breed. It will then look at a selection of trending developments in mobile, cloud, cybersecurity and robotics with a no-safety-net demonstration - bring your smartphone!
Registration is free and is open to both members and non-members of IICA. Attendees will earn two CPD hours.
Details for the technical nights are as follows:
Sydney branch: Tuesday 3 June at Strathfield Golf Club, 6 to 9 pm.
Newcastle branch: Wednesday 11 June at The Meeting Room, Wests Leagues, New Lambton, 6 to 9 pm.
