The SAFETYconnect conference and exhibition is to be held at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney this month. Over 400 professionals have already signed up to attend this world-class conference and expo.

The conference program features local and international experts presenting papers on the latest developments in workplace health and safety, both at the corporate and industrial level.

Karen McDonnell, immediate past president of the UK Institute of Occupational Safety (IOSH) and OSH policy advisor at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), has been announced by the NSCA Foundation as the international keynote speaker. McDonnell is recognised as a global leader in the health and safety sector and has been with the RoSPA for over 25 years. An experienced speaker at events across the UK, Europe and North America, she will share her thoughts and experience on the latest trends impacting the sector globally.

Stephen Woolger, manager health & safety at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC), will also be presenting a keynote. His presentation will outline the background and preparations for staging GC2018 and the WHS considerations within this process, including the challenges and restrictions in the new legislative environment, to ensure that GOLDOC’s operations create a safe environment for the workforce and for the enjoyment of the constituent groups attending or involved in GC2018.

The dual-stream program includes a Mock Trial about a high-voltage incident, which is being conducted by Sparke Helmore Lawyers. A Regulator Panel, featuring regulators from Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales, will discuss current WHS/OHS trends and what’s on the horizon.

A broad range of health, safety and wellbeing equipment and technology brands will be represented on the exhibition floor, including uvex Safety, Paramount Safety Group, Safety Mate, ENGENEOHS Alliance, Move 4 Life, WellBeing GROW, AssistEM, Signet, Verge Safety Barriers, Uneedit Supplies, Roobuck, Non-Slip Floor Solutions, Avatar Technology, SignViz, Pratt Safety Systems, Thorzt, ProChoice Safety Gear, Pro-Visual Publishing, SCRIM Safety First, Ergopack, Linq Height Safety, Vitality Works and more.
