BlueScope offering accelerator program
BlueScope has announced that applications are open for the company’s BlueScopeX Global Accelerator Program.
Called ‘Buildings of the Future’, the accelerator is a six-week program, which the company says is “a unique opportunity for founders and startups to work with one of the leading manufacturers in the world.”
Companies are being sought with technology in the fields of robotics (non-repetitive) and artificial intelligence, sustainable and smart building solutions, integrated building solutions and customer-experience solutions. Ten companies will be selected, with applications closing 20 April.
In relation to advanced robotics and AI applications, BlueScope says it is searching for advanced robotic and AI technology that will enable it to produce unique non-repetitive welded steel products faster.
It is also searching for solutions or tools that can help design, fabricate, erect and operate commercial and industrial buildings more sustainably. This may include incorporating IoT and AI to optimise building performance, improve resiliency and make buildings more adaptable.
Ten founders and startups will be selected to take part. The global program offers:
- A six-week intensive program (coaching, mentoring and access to experts)
- US$100,000 awarded to the overall winner of the accelerator program
- Opportunities to form commercial partnerships with BlueScope
- An opportunity to pitch to BlueScopeX (Venture fund) and other industry partners
- Opportunities to connect with the BlueScope’s extensive builder and construction network (including access to its Butler Manufacturing and Varco Pruden brands and expertise).
The Buildings of the Future Accelerator will run for six weeks, starting officially on 1 May 2023 and finishing in the Pitch Event week of 12 June 2023.
