AOG bringing the best of the best to Perth in 2015

With more than 620 companies queuing up to participate in this year’s annual Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference (AOG), the event will be bringing together a host of global specialists to present the latest in new ideas and technology.

Events like AOG are considered critical for the transfer of knowledge at a time when the petroleum industry is investigating every opportunity to reduce capital costs in the face of dramatically falling crude oil prices.

That makes AOG a vital event for oil and gas industry participants every year and in 2015 it will once again be one of the major oil and gas gatherings on the global calendar, with event organiser Diversified Communications forecasting record participation and attendance at a number of levels.

“We expect this year’s event to be the biggest in the show’s 32-year history,” Diversified Communications AOG Event Director Bill Hare said. “We are catering for more exhibitors (more than 620 companies), more countries participating (more than 22), an increase in attendees (more than 17,000) and more networking events.

“AOG is well established as a premier networking forum for oil and gas industry professionals to meet face to face with decision-making service providers, engineers, technical professionals and suppliers, and on a downward trend of the cycle - like we are going through at present - events like AOG are critical,” Hare said.

The strength of the global interest in the Australian oil and gas sector is reflected in the strength of the international participation at AOG 2015.

The event is hosting a number of major international pavilions from the leading global oil and gas service and supply technology specialist nations such as the UK, Norway, the USA, China, Italy and Canada - all regular participants at AOG - alongside some interesting newcomers such as Singapore and Belgium.

Australia’s states and territories will also be very heavily promoted with strong government and industry support.

Alongside the major pavilions will be hundreds of individual companies in all shapes and sizes.

“That is one of the key ingredients for AOG’s recipe for success for such a long time,” Hare said. “Oil and gas-related companies, from the largest to the small, from all over the world, have been able to come to Perth every year to show off their skills and wares and create significant new business opportunities.”

That is definitely the case for 2015. These are just some of the exhibitors who will be on show when Australia’s largest oil and gas event is staged at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) from 11-13 March 2015.

ACEPT

The Western Australian-based Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT) has been working closely with the oil and gas sector for many years to ensure that critically important process operators are trained to the highest level.

A recent example of this is the multiyear partnership ACEPT prepared between Shell Australia and Challenger Institute to jointly develop training programs for the technicians who will operate and maintain the energy giant’s revolutionary Prelude floating LNG (FLNG) facility.

Another example of ACEPT’s commitment to meeting industry standards is the acquisition and installation of a $1.3m binary distillation column, the first in Australia to be purchased by a registered training organisation.

Aggreko

Leading temporary power generation specialist Aggreko will be showcasing its range of gas generators at AOG in 2015.

Aggreko’s gas generators are:

• cost efficient through usage of gas power technology, which reduces operational and maintenance expenses;
• proven in performance and reliability through lean burn gas technology and integrated single control systems;
• able to reduce environmental impact through a lower carbon footprint, reduced exhaust gas emissions and a sound-attenuated package.

ASCO

Global oil and gas logistics specialist ASCO will use its AOG participation to highlight its significant expansion and success in Australia since AOG 2014.

In that time ASCO has acquired leading Australian oil and gas industry road transport firm Bonnie Rock Transport (BRT), successfully won the ToxFree tender for waste transportation from Dampier to Perth for the Gorgon project and opened its Darwin Marine Supply Base.

ASCO’s presence in the local oil and gas industry has greatly increased over the past 12 months and the company is now seen as a valuable and viable alternative to current service providers in the transport and logistics arena.

Baker Hughes

Baker Hughes Process and Pipeline Services (PPS) will be showcasing its process and pipeline pre-commissioning, maintenance and inspection applications services.

For over 40 years, a staff of more than 1000 professionals, at over 40 bases worldwide, has delivered many groundbreaking services to the process and pipeline industry: nitrogen/helium leak testing, foam inerting and, more recently, hybrid cool-down technology for process plants. The company’s cathodic protection (CP) monitoring and high-resolution corrosion inspection technologies ensure pipeline integrity.

OneSubsea

OneSubsea delivers integrated solutions, products, systems and services for the subsea oil and gas market. The company provides Pore to Process solutions for optimised production and enhanced recovery.

This year at AOG, the OneSubsea stand will feature an interactive experience where visitors can dive into a virtual journey from the reservoir through the subsea field to the topside, exploring OneSubsea’s Pore to Process offering.

Petrofac

Active in more than 30 countries, and with more than 18,000 employees, Petrofac first entered Australia in 2009 and the Group now has offices in Brisbane and Perth. To date, Petrofac has supported high-profile LNG activities including the Queensland Curtis LNG project, as well as drilling and well management scopes for major operators.
