AMTIL names new president
Paul Fowler has been named as the new president of the Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL), effective 17 December.
Working with CEO Shane Infanti and the AMTIL Board, Fowler will lead the institute’s efforts to provide education and training services, innovation and market access for Australia’s manufacturing businesses.
The Director of Dimac Tooling for more than eight years, Fowler has been a member of the AMTIL Board since 2008. He succeeds Pat Boland, co-founder and Director of ANCA Pty Ltd, as President of AMTIL.
Fowler will be responsible for strategically leading AMTIL’s operational initiatives in developing and expanding new and existing projects aiming to improve the performance and output of Australia’s advanced manufacturing industry.
“It is important that we continue to provide services around education and training, innovation and market access,” Fowler said. “Having the right skill set and the right technology builds capability which, when presented with opportunity, builds businesses.
“The AMTIL Board will direct much of its focus to developing a more strategic and longer-term view towards the changing landscape within the precision manufacturing sector,” Fowler said.
“The companies that are going to grow in the future are companies that have the latest machine tools, cutting tools, software, etc, and know how to get the best out of it,” said CEO Shane Infanti. “It’s all about technologies, methodologies and techniques.
“It has been a difficult few years in the industry and we have been guided well through this time by our outgoing President Pat Boland,” Infanti said.
“I would like to thank Pat for his efforts over the past two years and congratulate Paul on his appointment. I am certain that with Paul’s strategic vision and focus on accountability, the institute will go from strength to strength.”
Established in 1999, AMTIL is a not-for-profit organisation that is the voice of the advanced precision engineering and advanced manufacturing sector.
